A silver plate wine cooler in a rocking stand. This piece is built to sit on a yacht and accommodate the movement of the ocean and not spill a drop of the precious cargo! As can be seen in one of the pictures, the cage holding the removable wine cooler is hinged in two places, allowing the wine to rock freely. The piece is a simple design, with no ornamentation, making it a perfect fit for the most modern of vessels. The piece is stamped on the bottom of the cooler H & H, for Hukin & Heath of England, as well as the product reference number. Hukin & Heath are one of the most important silversmiths in the history of silversmithing. They helped the likes of pronto modernist designer Dr. Christopher Dresser bring his designs to life, and are featured in most of the world's most importantmuseum's silver collections. The piece was made in England, circa 1920's.
