A silver plate rope edged wine or champagne bottle coaster made by Hermès.  This super quality and very rare nautical inspired piece is the perfect bar tray for a wine of large bottle of champagne.  This is the perfect piece for the beach house bar or yacht, but can also comfortably sit in the most modern of environments. 

This was part of a group of pieces designed by Hermès using this rope edge designed.  This ranged from magnifying glasses to a selection of bottle openers and bar and home focused accessories.  Hermès main focus was usually equestrian and nautical, with this group falling into the latter.  There are two sizes of the coaster, and this is the larger and more practical for that reason.

The piece was made by the French manufacturers Ravinet D'Enfert for Hermès.  They were large scale silversmiths in France and were contracted by Hermès to make home goods for the luxury atelier during the mid 20th Century.  

The piece is fully singed on the base of the coaster, along with D'Enfert's makers mark.  The quality and feel is of what has come to be expected of the brand, and the condition is excellent throughout.  There is also the matching bar tray, and bottle opener available on the website to build the ultimate matching bar set.  Made in France, circa 1960's.
